04/07/2008 General Cable NZ Ltd announce that they will be making changes to their energy cable as a step towards standardised product lines for Australasia.
the changes will be;
Circular TPS 2 Core to 4C + Earth
Cable will be manufactured to AS/NZS 5000.1 or AS/NZS5000.2
Conductor sizes 6mm and below will be manufactured to AS/NZS5000.2 with PVC V-90 insulation. Voltage rating will be 450/750V.
Conductor sizes 10mm and above will be manufactured to AS/NZS5000.1 with XLPE X-90 insulation. Voltage rating will be 600/1000V.
Sheath Colour - will remain unchanged.
Armoured Multicables 2 core to 4 core
Cable will be manufactured to AS/NZS5000.1
Voltage rating 600/1000V
Conductor sizes 6mm and below will have PVC V-90 insulation
Conductor sizes 10mm and above will have XLPE X-90 insulation
Sheath colour will remain unchanged
Multicore Control Cables
Cable to be manufactured to AS/NZS5000.3 and will include earth cores for example 7C becomes 6C+E, voltage rating will be 450/750V.
Armoured Multicore Cables
Cable to be manufactured to AS/NZS 5000.3 and will include earth cores for example 7C becomes 6C+E, voltage rating will be 450/750V
The new products will be filtering into the market late June / July.
