General Cables New Zealand Ltd have advised that there will be a cable price rise on their cables as follows;
1mm, 1.5mm, 2.5mm, 4mm and 6mm Twin and earth and 3 core TPS cables will have an increase of 5%. Other standard cables 8%.
The reasoning for this according to General Cables is recent pressures with international copper prices and at the same time there has been significant increases in world oil prices which has resulted in considerable cost increased in numerous areas of cable manufacture such as international and domestic freight, PVC and other polymers.
The price increase of General Cable products is effective November 1st 2004.
