There are a number of drivers behind this increase, says Ken Burden from General Cables, however without question the number one cause of this increase is the increase in the international cost of copper that has seen copper price rise to a new record over successive months.
In the main the rate of increase is 6.4% with the exceptions being as follows;
- 2.5mm twin and earth TPS = 8.6%
- 1 x 16mm, 2 x 16mm, 3 x 16mm, 3 x 25mm and 3 x 70mm neutral screen cables 10.2%
- Variable speed drive cables 8.6%
- XLPE Single core copper cables 8.6%
- Accessories( Glands only ) 6.4%
