6/12/05 Schneider Electric ( New Zealand ) Ltd has become aware from internal tests that a component non conformance may exist in certain RCBO ranges ( see below ). Devices manufactured between Dec 15th 2003 and June 30th 2004 may not trip on earth leakage fault due to a component nonconformance. Should a RCBO not open when an earth leakage occurs 'serious personal injury, death or property damage may result'.
The products in reference are:
Merin Gerin C60H RCBO references 26885, 26886, 26887, 26888, 26889 and 26890
Schneider Electric is conducting this program as a voluntary measure to ensure the safe use of RCBO devices and protect personal safety.
Schneider Electric ask that any of the above units be returned to Stewarts and they will be quarantined for release back to Schneider Electric.
