06/04/2006 General Cable New Zealand Ltd wish to advise that effective May 1st 2006 there will be increases again in cable trade / list prices. These increases are a consequence of the recent shift in the exchange rate between the $USD and the $NZD plus the continuing rapid increase in our purchasing price of copper.
The increase that will be applied to our price on May 1st will be 8% across all products. Data and communication products will increase by 3 - 5 %. Aluminium accessories, instrumentation cables, 4 pr LAN and optical fibre products will remain unchanged.
It is their hope ( General Cables New Zealand Ltd ) that recent volatility will settle down and these frequent increases cease to be necessary however they are not confident that this will happen in the immediate future and they advise that you should be preparded for further increases.
